About

Geoff and Elena came to Kangaroo Island in 2023 during an Australia wide search for their next adventure in life. They fell in love instantly with the unique landscapes and friendly people on the island as well as the leisurely pace of life on the island. Solstice means to stand still in the sun (Sol = Sun and Sistere= to stand still). They settled in their property at Wisanger, only minutes from Emu Bay Beach and 11 minutes from Kingscote. Both Geoff and Elena have had long careers within the health sector and have developed an appreciation for the simple things in life and hence the idea for Solstice Kangaroo Island was born. We are both learning every day about the animals, the environment and how to tread a little bit more lightly on the planet and we would love to share our journey with you when you visit Kangaroo Island.
Why the highland cows? Their gentle nature and curious spirits. We love our animals at Solstice KI and we would love nothing better than to invite you onto our small farm to see how they live and contribute to the farm ecosystem. The animals at Solstice KI represent a range of different animals on agricultural properties around Australia which are farmed for meat, wool, eggs, fertiliser, pest control and yes, for fun and enjoyment too. So join us on our learning adventure and share in the joy of daily life on the farm at Solstice Kangaroo Island.
